After several leaks and a number of online speculations, Assassin’s Creed Mirage was officially named next the game franchises.
YouTuber j0nathan recently posted a series of information including the name of a new game. He said the game would return to its stealth-centric gameplay nature and be set in Baghdad between 860 and 870 AD.
In a Twitter post, Ubisoft confirmed the rumors and revealed that more information about Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward event on September 10th.
In the image, we can already see that at least the characteristic of the character with a hood resembles the appearance of the main characters of the first games in the series.
Rumors, backed up by journalist Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, indicate that the main character’s name will be Basim.
Assassin’s Creed is a game franchise depicting different historical moments in different places like Italy, Egypt, USA, England and more. The first games focused on stealth combat and clashing the Assassin’s Creed with the Templars. In the games, the assassins, fictional characters, are placed in historical periods with real personalities.
Since 2017, when Assassin’s Creed Origins was released, the series has become an open-world role-playing game. The next games Odyssey (2018) and Valhalla (2020) follow the same logic.
Given the possibility of Assassin’s Creed Mirage returning to classic franchise forms, longtime fans may at least be interested in a new title.
