Netflix and Ubisoft to release Assassin’s Creed mobile game

During Ubisoft Forward last Saturday (10), Netflix and Ubisoft announced a partnership to develop three games which will be exclusive to the platform streaming. One of the games will be the new Assassin’s Creed, the details of which have not yet been disclosed.


two others games will be sequels to The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot and Valiant Hearts: The Great War, both of which received two nominations at The Game Awards 2014. The games, as well as the mobile version of Assassin’s Creed, will be available on Netflix in 2023

“We are happy to work with Ubisoft, which has an unparalleled track record of creating memorable universes for fans,” said Mike Verdu, vice president of the gaming division of Netflix. “The partnership will give our customers exclusive access to some of the most exciting gaming franchises as we continue to build a catalog of great mobile games for our subscribers around the world.”

Jean-Michel Detoc, head of Ubisoft’s mobile division, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership with the “innovative and creative” Netflix as the studio looks to develop other experiences across multiple platforms. It will be an opportunity for the streaming company’s subscribers to “explore our universes on mobile devices,” he said.

Ubisoft partnership points to Netflix’s attempt to use its catalog mobile games, a model that is still striving for platform stability. In addition to the Assassin’s Creed game, the streaming company has also released an upcoming series of games in the franchise that may have something to do with the mobile game. No release date was announced at the conference.
